Love for Lebanon

If you haven't yet seen the tragic video that has been shared on social media (5th of August 2020) reports have said that yesterday evening in Lebanon’s capital city of Beirut, two huge explosions at the port sent an enormous blast of waves across the city. Unfortunately, the result of this has left around 78 people fatal and thousands injured. On top of the current crisis - COVID19 - hospitals that were dealing with the pandemic quickly reached capacity and were pleading for blood supplies as well as generators to keep their lights on. Thankfully governments world wide have offered support including Australia, where Scoot Morrison has actually stated “it’s my deep regret to inform you that one Australian has been killed in this horrific blast”.

I did not want to mention this to scare anyone and provide another reason as to why 2020 just ain’t it, I just wanted to highlight how in times of mass destruction and events that have plagued our joyous livelihood, we can still stand together (virtually) and support each other. If you know anyone who may have been affected by this disaster or potentially has family in Lebanon who have been affected, share some love and offer support.

Nonetheless, if any of you need support for anything at all due to the current restrictions or any other issues please contact your lovely well being team at Mordialloc college or:
